On the 10th May, at our usual contact session we were delighted to have a visit from our MP, Victoria Collins, accompanied by her aide, Dina. They were both very interested in learning about the work we do and took the opportunity to speak to the range of Volunteers there and also some of the parents. Later that same day Victoria wrote to the Minister of Justice in which she emphasised the need for secure funding and said this:

”I recently had the opportunity to visit the Harpenden Child Contact Centre in person and was struck by the warm, child-centred environment the volunteers have created. It was clear to me that the team’s commitment goes far beyond duty — their passion for supporting children and families through often very difficult circumstances is both moving and essential. The service they provide is delivered with immense care, professionalism, and compassion, all without any paid staff or core funding beyond the MoJ grant.”

We are grateful for the support of our MP and her interest in the service we aspire to provide.
