This July was a wonderfully busy and heart‑warming month for our centre, as we took part in two much‑loved local events, each offering a chance to connect with the community, raise vital funds, and share the work we do to support families.
On 5 July, we were delighted to attend the Strawberry Social at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The event took place on a lovely sunny day, filled with friendly faces and, of course, plenty of strawberries. Our volunteers enjoyed meeting parishioners and talking about the centre’s work. It was a relaxed, joyful afternoon, and we are very grateful for the kind and generous donation from the parish community.
Just a couple of weeks later, on 22 July, HCCC was proud to be one of the beneficiary charities at the Harpenden Classics Car Show on Harpenden Common. The show brought together an incredible display of classic vehicles and a fantastic turnout from the local community. Our team had a great time meeting families, answering questions, and sharing how the funds raised will help us continue running our sessions and supporting parents and children who rely on our service. Being chosen as a beneficiary charity was a real honour, and we are deeply grateful for the generosity shown by everyone who attended.
